Ngong Ping 360 Advises Guests to Remain Vigilant Following Cyberattack on 26 February 2026 

 

 

We would like to provide an update regarding the cyberattack that took place on 26 February 2026 (please refer to our press release for details) and our investigation of the incident to date. 
 
Under the guidance of leading cybersecurity experts, we have taken immediate steps to contain the incident, reinforce our network security infrastructure, and prevent further unauthorised access.  We take the protection of our stakeholder's personal data very seriously, we are actively monitoring our systems and have implemented additional security measures. A comprehensive review of the cybersecurity controls of our systems is underway. The investigation into the full scope of the incident remains ongoing. 
 
We immediately reported the case to the Hong Kong Police and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data on the day of the incident, and we are fully cooperating with these authorities in their investigations.

We have taken necessary steps to further strengthen the security of our networks, systems and databases. We recommend that all stakeholders of Ngong Ping 360 remain vigilant and follow the online safety recommendations by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.  In particular, stakeholders are encouraged  to take the following measures: 
1. Do not open or disclose any personal information in response to unsolicited or suspicious calls, messages, emails, or links.  
2. Regularly change passwords for important online accounts and enable two-factor authentication. 
3. Regularly monitor personal email and bank accounts for any unusual login activity or unauthorised transactions. 
 
 
We will continue to take all appropriate steps to safeguard our systems and protect our customers and stakeholders. 
 
Ngong Ping 360's cable car on-site ticketing system and electronic payment platforms are operated on independent systems and were not affected by this incident. Furthermore, the cable car operation system is completely separated from the internal network systems affected by the incident. Cable car services and safety have not been impacted in any way, and the services between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping continues to operate normally.
