Ngong Ping Charity Walk 2012 calling for fun seekers and challengers |

Ngong Ping Charity Walk 2012 will be held on 8 January 2012 (Sunday). Co-organized by Ngong Ping 360 and Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association, the Walk aims to promote conservation and to raise funds for the operation of youth hostels in Hong Kong. A kick-off ceremony was organized on 4 August 2011 with Miss Sandra Ng and Miss Tania Mak invited as Event Ambassadors who called for the public to support this event. Not only the participants can enjoy the beautiful nature along the Ngong Ping Trail, they can also experience the numerous attractions seating in the serene mountains on Lantau Island.

Guide Dogs First Visit to Ngong Ping 360 |

Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association visited Ngong Ping 360 on 5 July with guide dogs Google and Iris for their outdoor trainings. They first experienced their memorable ride on the Crystal Cabin followed by a visit to the Ngong Ping Village. Chairman of the Association Raymond Cheung expressed that Ngong Ping 360’s blue and green environment gave guide dogs a great opportunity to explore the nature. Ngong Ping 360 strives to provide all-rounded facilities and excellent guest services for the Disabled and visually impaired guests, providing a barrier-free tourist attraction to enjoy themselves fully at Ngong Ping 360.

Ngong Ping 360 Supports Mother’s Day Water-on-your-back Fundraising Walkathon |

Organized by Lotus Light Charity Society (LLCS) and supported by Ngong Ping 360, the Mother’s Day “Water-on-your-back” Fundraising Walkathon was held at Ngong Ping 360 for the first time on 8 May. This charity event attracted around 2,500 participants, raised a total of $1.4 million, which was a record high for LLCS on the number of participants and money raised. Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director Mr Y T Li and LLCS guests did a kickoff ceremony for the walkathon in helping the poor peasants to build water cellars in drought-stricken regions in the Gansu Province, China.

Islands District Healthy City Tree Planting Festival - Green Lantau |

“Islands District Healthy City Tree Planting Festival - Green Lantau” was co-organized by Ngong Ping 360, the Islands District Office and the Conservancy Association at Nei Lak Shan, Lantau on 7 May to improve the ecological environment and preserve the natural ecosystem. Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director Mr Y T Li, Under Secretary for the Environment Ms Kitty Poon Kit, District Officer (Islands) Mr Danny Lau, Vice-chairman of Islands District Council Ms Chau Chuen Heung joined hands with 300 volunteers including Ngong Ping 360 volunteers, Tung Chung residents, teachers, students and other volunteers planted 8,000 seedlings in the tree planting sites at Nei Lak Shan.
